Short description

Crossing the salt flats on a wind mountain bike is one of the most unusual and fantastic experiences one can have on this continent. The challenge of crossing the salt flats by bike and camping, thus enjoying three full days without the inconvenience of traveling hours a day by car. The Salar de Uyuni is by far the largest salt flat in the world and one of Bolivia’s most extraordinary attractions, especially in June and July, when the brilliant blue sky contrasts with the whiteness of the salt crust. Sunrises and sunsets are quite a spectacle; during the rainy season, the salt flat becomes a giant mirror. A photographer’s paradise.

Day 1 Uyuni – Colchani – Incahuasi Island.

Departing from Potosí or Uyuni in a dedicated vehicle, we transfer to the train cemetery and continue toward Colchani. The guide explains the route and provides all the necessary equipment to begin this unusual adventure, crossing its salt mounds, the first salt hotel, and through its lunar atmosphere to Fish Island. We arrive in Coquesa in the late afternoon. Camping or basic lodging is available.

Day 2 Tunupa Volcano – Jirira – Coquesa.

This stage showcases the magnificence of the salt flats. We reach a viewpoint with a fantastic view of the Tunupa volcano, its imposing nature. We arrive at midday in the surroundings of Jirira, where we enjoy a spectacular descent on our mountain bikes. We have free time to visit the chullpares and salt lakes. We return to the start of the route. END OF THE ADVENTURE.
