Short description

Cycling along the Colonial Hacienda Route is a 34-km stretch along the Ribera River. Cayara, Molinos, and Mondragon are haciendas whose walls hold remarkable chronicles and legends of their time, such as the “Holy Bronze Christ” and the chullpa pata monoblock (homes of the chullpa culture). Narrow, cobbled paths wind uphill and downhill through a mountainous landscape, once traveled by llama herds and carriages of counts and marquises. Today, it is ideal for mountain biking and the pleasant enjoyment of its pleasant climate, which ranges from 15°C to 25°C year-round. Captivating fumaroles and volcanic vents complete this extraordinary tour.

Program

In the morning, we will transfer by bus to the roundabout area. Here, the guide will provide instructions and all the necessary equipment for the start of the activity. The road winds through small communities and lush vegetation. We first arrive at the hacienda of the Marquis of Otavi (Cayara). On the way back, we reach the Molinos hacienda. We will rest and have a snack, while receiving further instructions from the guide.

Descent through the Tarapaya and Miraflores volcanic zones, arriving at the Mondragón ranch, perched on a hill. Returning by car, under the Inca eye of Huayna Kapac, a well-deserved reward awaits us: a traditional meal of your choice and free time for a relaxing bath. Return to the city at the end of the day.
