Discover the Carlos Machicado plateau, 4,274 meters above sea level. Where, like a guardian, its extraordinary snowy world surrounds you. Suni, 6,144 meters above sea level. Covered in a white blanket, where only the cold is your eternal companion, mythical but accessible from this part. No experience is required, but good physical condition is essential. The noble vicuña and guanaco in their emporium of living nature and in their crystalline waters, rainbow fish, here the secrets of time are kept, with great ecological value, a splendid journey for lovers of this reserve to venture into their habitat and a paradise of memories.
Day 1: Potosí – Toro Lake – Suni World.
Departure to the Mundo Suni snow-capped mountain. Fascinating views of plains, mountains, and snow-capped peaks all the way to the end; Toro Lake at km 67. In the afternoon, a 2- to 3-hour hike uphill to Campo Alto at 5,120 meters above sea level. Vicuñas and guanacos accompany us in its solitary grasslands. Dinner and camping until dawn.
Day 2: Suni World – Yura River – Potosí.
Very early, we start from Campo Alto, following a relatively easy path. The average ascent takes 2 to 3 hours, reaching the summit at 5,688 meters above sea level. We enjoy fascinating views of the Cordillera Real. Then, we return to Campo Alto and base camp. At the Yura River, we have free time to enjoy rainbow trout fishing or a relaxing soak in the hot springs (optional) . We return to the start of the route.
