Short description.
A sublime destination that only you would need to know. Created in 1973 with an area of 714,745 hectares, it is located southwest of the Department of Potosí, Bolivia, between 4,000 and 6,000 meters above sea level. This region boasts extraordinary relief, its extensive plains, salt flats, and plateaus flanked by volcanic lava flows, such as those of Ollagüe, among others. Its vegetation includes grassy pastures (paja brava), tholares, and, in certain rocky ravines, the keñua. A sample of its authentic fauna: flamingos (chilensis, Andean, and Jamesi). The unique presence of colored lagoons and its climatic conditions can only be found in this extraordinary destination.
Day 1: Uyuni – Incahuasi Island – Salt Hotel.
In the morning, we visit the train cemetery, transfer to Colchani, where we buy some souvenirs, and a short stop to admire the salt piles and the first salt hotel, Isla Incahuasi. At the end of the day, enjoy a beautiful scenic sunset over the salt flats, arriving at the town of San Juan. Basic accommodations.
Day 2: Chiguana Salt Flat – Stone Tree – Red Lagoon.
We set off very early in the morning to explore the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve, offering stunning views of the Chiguana salt flats and the Capaña, Hedionda, and Charkota lagoons. We then explore the stone tree in the Siloli Desert. We then arrive at Laguna Colorada, 4,200 meters above sea level. Free time to admire the pink flamingos. Basic accommodations in Huayllajara.
Day 3: Morning sun – Green lagoon – Valley of rocks.
Early morning departure to appreciate unique landscapes, such as the Sol de Mañana volcanic sector, craters, fumaroles, and the Dalí Desert. Green Lagoon with its beautiful view of the Licancabur Volcano. From here, there is a possible connection to San Pedro de Atacama or vice versa (optional). On the way back, we will visit Villa Mary, the World Cup, Valle de Rocas, cross Laguna Negra, and San Cristóbal. We will arrive at the end of the day in Uyuni. At the appropriate time, transfer to the hotel/airport. END OF TRIP
