Short description
Tupiza is located in the southern part of the Department of Potosí, at 3,000 meters above sea level. This Chicheña region offers visitors a history of the disappearance of the Colla kingdom and the expansion of the Inca army throughout the south to Tucumán. In 1471, the Inca Tupaj Yupanqui formed the vanguard of the Chicha Indians, becoming an important political center at the southern end of the Kollasuyo. The inspiring topography, along with its Argentine-influenced people, horseback riding, and warm blue waters complete this fascinating panorama.
