CHAQUI TREKKING + HOT SPRINGS 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

Short description

We operate to this destination for two days, an expedition with different levels but in high mountains, ascending from 3,800 meters above sea level to 5,000 meters above sea level and descending to 3,540 meters above sea level. Being in the Kari-Kari Mountain Range is sublime, its solitary spaces where only its fauna, such as condors, llamas, and vizcachas, accompany you. The blue reflection of water springs or blocks of ice, lagoons or dams from the colonial era, very close to Chaqui, its indigenous communities of the Colla culture, its sacred mountain “Hichaykkollu,” a volcanic and sacred place, mystical for the sorcerers and fetishists of the Chaqui culture.

Day 1: Potosí – Apacheta.

Welcome to the city of Potosi. Our staff will give you a brief briefing about the trek and recommendations for quickly adapting to the altitude. From the foothills of Cerro Rico (4,070 meters above sea level), we hike to the magical peaks of Kari Kari, past colonial lagoons, and reach the highest peak of Apacheta (4,952 meters above sea level). A coca tea will mitigate altitude sickness. At the end of the day, we will camp in a typical country house.

Day 2: Apacheta – Chaqui – Potosí.

Descending through its emporium of high plateau nature, it’s simply a natural escape. Its sacred Hichayckollu hill opens onto spectacular views of volcanic waters and traditional cuisine. We’ll enjoy the medicinal water pool or pools . Return to the start of the route.
